In a delightful celebration of literacy and community spirit, the Foundation for Haslett Schools has embarked on a heartwarming initiative to mark "March is Reading Month." We began by reflecting on the special allocations and grants we have awarded throughout the years to support reading in our schools and uphold our mission of "funding beyond the fundamentals."
However, we felt that we wanted to even more. And what better way to ignite the imaginations of young learners than by inviting them on thrilling literary adventures? And an idea was born...Throughout the month, our Board members have generously donated their time to step into elementary classrooms as mystery readers, enchanting students with tales of intrigue and wonder.
As March unfolded, our board members visited various classrooms and brought to life their favorite stories, captivating students with animated storytelling and infectious enthusiasm. It was our hope that through these immersive experiences, our Haslett students will not only develop a deeper appreciation for the magic of reading but also forge meaningful connections with members of their community who share in their love for literature.
Our hope was to share our commitment to fostering a love of learning within the Haslett Schools District and support our mission to enrich educational experiences and build strong community ties. As the month draws to a close, we hope that our young readers remain inspired to continue a lifelong journey of reading and exploration.
If you would like to support our Foundation's mission, join us by donating to our cause.
